South Burnett And Cherbourg On ShowAre you interested in organic farming? Would you like to learn more about fresh, pure foods? How about finding out how to cook the perfect steak?

If so, you should book a place at Bronel Natural Foods’ “Day On The Farm” experience during this year’s South Burnett and Cherbourg On Show long weekend.

Bronel Natural Foods produce grass fed beef and lamb, and free-range pork and poultry, on their farm at 115 Blackburns Road in Crownthorpe, and retail them through their butcher shop at 76 Macalister Street in Murgon.

They use organic farming principles to produce the healthiest natural foods they can.

And their products have become a by-word for delicious, healthy, natural eating with a strong following inside and outside the South Burnett.

Why? Because their meat products “taste like meat used to taste”.

And now – between Saturday, October 4 and Monday, October 6 – Bronel’s owners Brett and Simone Greer will be inviting guests to come and camp out on their property for a few days to learn about what they do close-up and at first hand (you can even bring your caravan if you want).

Saturday morning will be given over to arriving at the farm and setting up camp.

But on Saturday at noon there’ll be a short welcome ceremony followed by a BBQ lunch featuring Bronel products, and then an afternoon given over to farm tours which will look at how Brett and Simone developed their unique farming practices.

There’ll also be a talk about good landcare practices by Beth Shanks and a discussion on Holistic Farm Management led by Jason Virtue, before a South Burnett wine and cheese presentation and then a great camp cooking dinner prepared by “The Saucy Fork”.

Sunday will kick off bright and early at 6:30am (if you’re up for it) with a morning walk around the property, followed by breakfast at 7:30am and then a discussion about different meat cuts and how to cook the perfect steak.

After this there’ll be children’s games to amuse the youngsters until lunch at 12:30pm.

From then on, guests are very welcome to travel the region to enjoy Sunday and Monday’s South Burnett and Cherbourg On Shows events around the region, returning to their campsite in the evening to recuperate.

Bronel have a number of packages available ranging from individual events to a full weekend camping experience with all meals thrown in.

Prices range from $10 for adults and $6 for children if you’d like to attend for morning tea and lunch on Sunday through to $80 for adults and $65 for children for the complete weekend experience.

You can download booking forms, a list of what to bring to get the most out of the weekend and directions to get to the farm from Bronel’s website.
