The South Burnett Regional Council will be calling for two “Preferred Supplier” arrangements next month – one for General and Trade Services and the other for Plant Hire.

The new Preferred Supplier arrangements will be for two years.

The Council had originally planned to hold the meetings in late January and early February, but was forced to postpone them because of the Australia Day floods.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for local businesses to be included on Council’s preferred supplier list,” a spokesman said.

“This means that Council is able to engage a business service without having to request quotations.”

Council will conduct a series of briefings over the next three weeks to provide information to businesses about the tender process.

The briefings will be held at:

  • Murgon Town Hall  – Tuesday, July 30
  • Nanango Cultural Centre – Thursday, August 1
  • Kingaroy Town Hall Reception Room – Tuesday, August 6
  • Wondai Town Hall –  Thursday, August 8

All venues will open at 5:30pm for a 6:00pm start, and each briefing is expected to last about one hour.
