Kingaroy Friendship Markets
- The third Saturday of the month Friendship Markets will be held at Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Street, Kingaroy from 7:00am to around 12:00pm today. The markets are run by the Kingaroy Show Society and feature a range of arts, crafts, food stalls, fruit and garden stalls, plus unusual bric-a-brac. New stallholders are always very welcome.
Yarraman Markets
- The Yarraman Progress Association's Yarraman Markets will be held on the vacant block at the corner of the D'Aguilar and New England Highways (ie opposite Bendigo Bank) in Yarraman from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon today. The markets are held on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Saturday each month and feature trash and treasure stalls, car boot sellers, local produce and hand-made goods, as well as food stalls. XCO Mountain Bike Racing - Gordonbrook
- The 5th and final round of the XCO Mountain Bike Racing competition will be held this weekend at the South Burnett Mountain Bike Club's tracks at Gordonbrook Dam. Rounds of this pulse-pounding cross-country mountain bike racing competition have previously been held at Walloon, Mt Crosby and Kooralbyn and a number of classes will be represented including U11 and U15 juniors; A, B and C grade adults; and ebikes. Kevin Smith - Kingaroy
- Entertainer Kevin Smith will be performing at Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy from 7:00pm until late tonight. Admission is free and the club's kitchen will be open for dinner and snacks. More details? Phone the RSL on (07) 4162-1755
Barambah ABA Shoot - Nanango
- The Barambah Bowhunters and Field Archers Association will be holding the first day of their weekend-long ABA Shoot at their archery range at Bow Hunters Road off the D'Aguilar Highway south of Nanango's CBD from 8:00am this morning (when things will kick off with a bow check and muster), followed by the shoot's commencement at 10:00am. Archers will be coming from all over SE Qld to take part, and spectators are very welcome to watch from the clubhouse. Food and free camping are also available onsite if you want to stay over.
MyPlace Meeting - Yarraman
- The Blackbutt, Yarraman and surrounds MyPlace group will be holding a meet and greet meeting at the Royal Hotel in Toomey Street, Yarraman from 12:30pm to around 2:30pm this afternoon. Chris Henderson from Diagnostic Health Solutions will be a special guest, and he'll be discussing ways to develop healthier indoor living environments. Everyone is welcome.
Never Two Late - Linville
- Popular duo Never Two Late will be performing at the Linville Hotel in George Street, Linville from 4:00pm until 8:00pm tonight. The hotel's kitchen will also be operating from 11:00am for lunch, dinner and snacks and there's free camping across the road or paid accommodation at the hotel if you want to stay overnight. Mondure Hall Renewal Party
- The Mondure Hall committee will be celebrating the recent refurbishment of the hall with a Renewal Party from 4:00pm today. The event will feature the opening of Mondure school's 1996 time capsule, live music and a ribbon cutting ceremony, and burgers, sausages, soft drinks, tea and coffee will be available on site. All past and present residents in the Mondure district are very welcome to attend.
Wondai Parkrun
- The Wondai parkrun group will be holding their weekly 5km timed runs at Coronation Park in Wondai at 7:00am this morning. Runners follow a course along the South Burnett Rail Trail and the parkrun group is free to join. - The Nanango parkrun group will be holding its weekly 5km timed walk/run along the Ros Gregor Trail at Tipperary Flat next to the D'Aguilar Highway south of Nanango at 7:00am this morning. Railway Parkrun - Proston
- The Proston parkrun group will be holding its weekly 5km timed walk/run at Railway Park in Rodney Street, Proston at 7:00am this morning. Runners follow a course along the former railway line and the parkrun group is free to join. Brisbane Valley Rail Trail Parkrun - Blackbutt
- The Blackbutt parkrun group will be holding its weekly 5km timed walk/run along the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail at Blackbutt from 7:00am this morning. The starting line is adjacent to the Roy Emerson Museum, off Bowman Road. Runners follow a course along the former railway line and the parkrun group is free to join. All you need to do is register (once) online (it's officially called the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail parkrun) and bring the printed barcode to any parkrun event.
Saturday Cricket
- Round 11 games of the local Senior competition will be played today. Tingoora Vikings will take on Wooroolin Warriors at the Tingoora Sportsgrounds; Kingaroy Services Orange and Wondai Wolves at Taabinga State School; Kingaroy Services Blue and Murgon Diggers at the Wondai Cricket Grounds; and Nanango Scorpions and Tingoora Huntsmen at the Alan Downie Sports Fields in Burnett Street, Nanango, with all matches starting at 12:30pm. Spectators are very welcome at all games.
Kick Ass Country - Kingaroy
