Proston Community Christmas Carols

Proston's annual Community Christmas Carols will be held at The Platform sound shell in Railway Park next to the CBD from 4:00pm (when Twilight Markets kick off) until late tonight. Santa will pay a surprise visit around 5:00pm to set the Yuletide mood, and then students from Proston State School will kick off the night's carolling from 5:30pm to around 6:30pm. After this, the students will be followed by international performers DJ Raw Audio, DJ Soul Fusion, Dubarray and Jasson Fichera plus local entertainers Lin Chandler and Peter and Nell Kinson. There'll also be prizes awarded for the best children and adults Christmas-themed costumes on the night; a BBQ run by the Proston Men's Shed; soft drinks and popcorn from the Proston Scouts; and tea and coffee from Proston's QCWA. School students will also be selling battery-operated candles, glow sticks, glow necklaces and other illuminated objects as a fundraiser for the school's student council. There's no admission fee and everyone is welcome! Note: In the event of wet weather, tonight's celebrations will be held in the nearby Proston Community Hall

Tuesday Night Bingo - Blackbutt

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to help solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership, nor is it allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution. South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy

The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
