Kingaroy Community Christmas Carols
- Kingaroy's annual Community Christmas Carols service will be held at the Kingaroy Town Hall Forecourt in Glendon Street, Kingaroy from 5:00pm this afternoon (carols start at 6:00pm). This year's gathering is being presented by the Kingaroy District Ministry Association and several sponsors and will feature a performance by special guest Steve Apirana. Food stalls will be offering food, soft drinks and other beverages, and families who want to sit near the front should bring blankets and cushions to sit on (BYO chairs if you want to sit further back). As usual, this afternoon's carols service is a great, completely free, family-friendly event to which everyone is invited. Note: In the event of rain, the carols will relocate inside the Town Hall.
Yarraman Country Music Friends
- The Country Music Friends will be holding their first Sunday of the month informal concert at the Yarraman Memorial Hall in Browne Street, Yarraman from 1:00pm this afternoon. This ACMA-affiliated club meets every month except January, and the $4 admission fee (U16s are free) includes a great afternoon tea. New players are always very welcome! More details? Open Mic Jam Session & Social Bowls - Kilkivan
- The Kilkivan Bowls Club in Crescent Street, Kilkivan will be holding a free Open Mic Jam Session from 12:00 noon to around 4:00pm today. The club's bar and hot food will be available from noon, and barefoot social bowls will be happening on the greens from around 1:00pm (green fees for this are $8 for adults or $4 for students). Timbertowns Woodworkers - Blackbutt
- The Timbertowns Woodworkers group will be holding their regular Sunday morning meeting at the Blackbutt Showgrounds in Bowman Road, Blackbutt from 8:30am until around 12:00 noon today. Proston Rally & Burnouts
- The Proston Car Rally Club will be holding the second (and final) day of their quarterly Proston Rally at their racing track today (the club's track is located 7.5km west of Proston at 757 Proston-Boondooma Road). Racing will commence early this morning and wrap up around 2:30pm this afternoon. Up to 50 cars attend Proston Rally Club meetings from all over Queensland and NSW and spectators are very welcome. There'll also be a BBQ and soft drinks stand running throughout the event, as well as a hearty breakfast supplied by the Proston Lions club available early on Sunday morning. Hot showers, toilets and free camping are available on site too. Admission to the Rally just a gold coin donation for spectators and everyone is welcome! More details? Live Music - Linville
- The Linville Hotel in George Street, Linville will have live music playing on the rear deck from 11:30am until 3:30pm today. The hotel's kitchen will also be operating from 11:00am until late for lunch, dinner and snacks and there's accommodation upstairs or free camping across the road if you want to stay overnight. Sunday Poker - Kingaroy
