13th Kings Royal Speedway - Kingaroy

The first day of the three-day Kings Royal - the biggest annual event on the South Burnett Speedway Club's calendar - will be held at Kingaroy Showgrounds this afternoon and evening. Today's program will get underway with a Grand Parade at 3:30pm, followed by racing from 4:00pm until late with large fields competing for cash prizes in Modified Sedans and 7th annual Queens Royal (New Stars and Top Stars). Admission today is $30 for adults, $25 for students (with ID) and aged or disability pensioners; or $85 for a family of two adults and up to two students (children 12 and under are free). Three-day passes are also available at discounted rates. There'll be canteen facilities operating onsite and camping is available, too. Jack Attack - Nanango

Nanango Bowls Club's social lawn bowls experience for beginners and old bowlers alike is on from 6:00pm tonight at the club at 2 Henry Street. "Jack Attack" is a shorter game and equipment and coaching will be provided to non-bowlers. Please wear flat-soled shoes, or just come barefoot or in socks! More info? The Shed in Little Drayton Street, Nanango (just next to the Scott Car Park) will be open from 7:00pm until late tonight for local musicians and anyone else who enjoys music to come along, bring their instruments and jam in a relaxed and informal setting, or just sit on the Shed's lounges, listen in and enjoy the wide variety of talent on offer. Murgon To Kingaroy Shopping Bus

Graham House will be running a shopping bus between Murgon and Kingaroy today. The bus will pick up customers from their address at 8:30am and transport them to Kingaroy Shoppingworld (or other destinations if arranged beforehand), then make a return journey about 11:30am. Tickets on the bus are $15 per person return and the bus runs fortnightly on Fridays (except public holidays) but places are limited so a booking is necessary. Alcoholics Anonymous - Murgon

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for membership. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution. South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy

The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 1A (Lot 3) Railway Terrace in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
