Kingaroy Speedway
Day 2 of the two-day National Junior Title and Wingless Queensland Title event will get under way this afternoon at the South Burnett Speedway's Kingaroy Showgrounds track. Junior Sedans New Stars will also be in action. Gates open at 2:00pm for spectators with racing due to start at 4:00pm (although organisers may start earlier if it appears there are storms on the horizon). Today's racing will feature hotly contested heats and the finals in the two Titles classes. Entry is $30 for adults, $25 for pensioners (aged / disability) and students (with ID) with children aged 12 and under free (must be accompanied by an adult). A canteen, bar and the Snack Shack will be operating. UPDATE: The New Stars events have been cancelled due to the rain. Check on the Kingaroy Speedway Facebook page on Saturday morning for a decision on whether the rest of the meeting will go ahead

- The Kingaroy Men's Shed will be holding their regular Saturday morning meeting at the old Motor Pool building off Geoff Raph Drive at Kingaroy Airport from 8:00am to around noon today. The group meet every Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday morning and new members and visitors are always welcome.
Saturday Cricket
NB. UPDATED TIMES & LOCATIONS: The South Burnett Senior cricket competition resumes today with a series of Round 5 T20 games followed by the T20 Grand Final in the afternoon. At 11:30am, Wondai Wolves v Tingoora Vikings at Taabinga State School; and Wooroolin Warriors v Nanango Scorpions at Alan Downie Sportsfields, Nanango; and at 3:00pm, Kingaroy Services v Tingoora Huntsmen at Taabinga State School. The team in top spot on the ladder will play the second-best team in the T20 Grand Final at Alan Downie Sportsfields, Nanango, also at 3:00pm. Junior cricket will resume on February 1.

Nanango Men's Shed
- The Nanango Men's Shed at the corner of Mt Stanley Road and Heathermore Lane, Nanango, will be open from 8:30am to around noon today for its regular Saturday get-together. Inverlaw Hall Dance
CANCELLED A dance will be held at Inverlaw Hall on the Burrandowan Road (roughly 20km from Kingaroy) from 8:00pm until late this evening. There'll be the usual supper and novelty dances, along with a Lucky Door draw and a raffle. Admission fees are $10.00 for adults and $5 for high school students and everyone is welcome! More details? Aqua Aerobics - Wondai
- Wondai Swimming Pool is hosting free Aqua Aerobics on Saturday mornings from 7:00am until February 8 as part of a South Burnett Regional Council program. Spots can be booked online
Come & Try Dragon Boating - BP Dam
The Barambah Dragons dragon boat club invites people to try out the ancient Chinese sport of dragon boat racing at Bjelke-Petersen Dam from 9:00am (for a 9:30am paddle-off) on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month. Paddles and gear will be supplied but participants should wear closed shoes that can tolerate getting wet and bring along sunscreen, water, a towel and warm clothes for afterwards. The event is free and will be followed by a gold coin donation sausage sizzle. Everyone is welcome! NB. Check the club's Facebook page as times could change due to the weather.
Wooroolin Line Dancers
- The Wooroolin Line Dancers will be holding line dancing classes for beginners and intermediate dancers at Wooroolin Hall on the Bunya Highway at Wooroolin from 9:00am to 10:00am this morning (for beginners) and 10:00am to 12:30pm (intermediate). Course fees are $10 for intermediate (morning tea included) or $5 for beginners. BYO mug. Everyone is welcome.
Yarraman Country Markets
The new Yarraman Country Markets will be on from 8:00am to noon this morning at Yarraman Memorial Hall in Browne Street, Yarraman. The markets - which include a fruit and vege stall - are held on the second Saturday of every month. Phone Joe 0459-638-282 to book a stall.
