Organisers say the South Burnett Training Awards are on track to be the biggest event yet, with record nomination numbers, the strongest ticket sales to date and growing support from across the region.
South Burnett Training Awards committee member Nicola Pitt said 2026 marked a new chapter for the awards, with organisers taking the opportunity to refresh the event, strengthen local partnerships and continue building the awards’ role in recognising excellence in vocational education and training across the South Burnett.
Mrs Pitt said the support received from across the community had been particularly encouraging.
“Bringing this year’s event together has involved a lot of work behind the scenes, but what has really stood out has been the willingness of people and organisations across the South Burnett to be part of it,” Mrs Pitt said.
“We have record nominations and record ticket sales, but just as importantly we have local organisations and businesses contributing to the night in so many different ways.”
That community involvement will be evident throughout the evening.
MISfITZ will provide the live entertainment, South Burnett Arts Inc will conduct the raffle, Kingaroy Saints AFC will operate the bar while Kingaroy Scouts and Venturers will assist with serving and cleaning.
Local businesses are also playing key roles, with Nancy Jayde Photography capturing the evening and catering provided by The Picnic House and JC Catering.
Committee member Mark Pitt said those partnerships reflected what organisers wanted the awards to become.
“The goal is to build an event that is strong, sustainable and genuinely representative of the South Burnett,” Mr Pitt said.
“It isn’t only about what happens on the stage. It is about bringing together the people, businesses and organisations that make our region what it is, while celebrating those who are developing the skills that will help shape its future.”
This year’s event will feature a three-course dinner and the presentation of awards recognising apprentices, trainees, students, employers, businesses and excellence in vocational training, culminating in the presentation of the Vocational Medallion.
The South Burnett Training Awards will be held this Saturday at the Kingaroy Town Hall, with doors opening at 5:00pm.
