A pop-up session will be held at the Kingaroy RSL Club on Friday, August 21, to allow residents to comment on the State Government’s draft Wide Bay Burnett Regional Plan.
The session will run from 10:00am to 1:00pm.
Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington encouraged residents across the region to have their say on the plan, which includes the South Burnett and Cherbourg council areas.
The draft plan outlines a 20-year vision for the region with strategic priorities including housing, economic growth, agriculture, ecotourism, healthy and liveable communities, and the infrastructure needed to support future growth.
Ms Frecklington said the plan was an important step in ensuring regional communities remained at the centre of planning decisions.
“This plan gives our regional communities confidence that we’re listening to them and we have a plan for their future. This is about ensuring better coordination for our long-term infrastructure needs across the region,” she said.
“The draft plan recognises the strong connections between communities throughout the Wide Bay Burnett and aims to support sustainable growth while protecting the characteristics that make our region unique.”
