Two local councils have received funding to tackle the issue of flying foxes under Round 8 of a State Government grant scheme.

South Burnett Regional Council has received $32,200 to assist residents and businesses directly affected by the Taromeo flying-fox roost near Blackbutt.

Gympie Regional Council has received $30,000 for residents and businesses affected by the roost at Commissioners Gulley.

The Flying-Fox Roost Management Local Government Grant Program provides an opportunity for Queensland councils to access funding to help mitigate the impacts of flying-fox roosts on their communities.

A State Government spokesperson said the program supported councils to deliver practical solutions to assist residents and businesses.
