Some of the International Legends of League at the Kingaroy Bowls Club on Friday afternoon

February 21, 2025

The International Legends Of League have been making friends in Kingaroy ahead of their big clash with the Kingaroy All Stars at T.J. O’Neill Oval on Saturday.

The legends – all former NRL or ARL greats – dropped into St Mary’s Catholic College, St John’s Lutheran School, Kingaroy State High School and local cluster schools this week to talk to students.

On Friday afternoon, Kingaroy Bowls Club hosted a meet’n’greet with the players, who challenged local residents to some friendly games of bowls.

On Friday evening, the players joined sponsors and guests for a cocktail party at Kingaroy’s Commercial Hotel.

All these events were just a build-up to what promises to be a big day of family fun on Saturday at T.J. O’Neill Oval, hosted by the Kingaroy Red Ants.

This is the fourth time that a Legends squad has visited the South Burnett but the first time they have been in action in Kingaroy.

The official (updated) program for the fun day of league on Saturday starts with Under 12s Kingaroy juniors at 1:30pm, followed by Kingaroy Red Ants v Dalby Diehards at 2:30pm, Cherbourg Hornets v Oakey Redbelly Blacks at 4:00pm, Under 8s Kingaroy Juniors at 5:30pm; and then the Legends game at 6:00pm.
