The organisers of Ringsfield House’s Open Day last Saturday are now reviewing the success of the trial.

The aim was to show artworks, host Devonshire teas and invite tours of the historic house on the first Saturday of every month; ie. coinciding with the markets at the nearby Nanango Showgrounds.

Ringsfield House belongs to the South Burnett Regional Council and has been the subject of much debate since the not-for-profit group which used to be responsible for its management pulled out about seven years ago.

A new committee was eventually formed with Council’s help which organised Saturday’s open day in conjunction with Council staff.

As well as the artworks, Devonshire teas and tours, there was also live music in the grounds.

Cr Jane Erkens said 250 scones were cooked on the day which means at least 125 people ordered Devonshire teas.
