UPDATE: A police spokesperson said the missing man had been located safe and well.
Police are seeking urgent public assistance to locate a 78-year-old man reported missing on Friday.
Jay Bentley was last seen in Gladstone about 10:00am and was travelling to the Gold Coast.
Police and family hold concerns for his welfare as he suffers from a medical condition that may cause confusion.
Jay is Caucasian, approximately 178cm tall, with a slim build, grey hair and brown eyes.
Investigations indicate Jay’s last known location was at the intersection of Abel Road and the Wide Bay Highway, Lower Wonga, about 2:30pm.
Jay is travelling in a silver Holden Rodeo with Queensland registration 782-KGT.
Police believe he may be in the Goomeri, Gympie or Kilkivan areas.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have information about Jay’s whereabouts or who have seen his vehicle to contact Policelink on 131-222.
Investigations are continuing.
