Powerlink will start work later this year on a 275kV transmission line to link the new Wambo Wind Farm to the electricity grid.

The double circuit transmission line will link a proposed substation at Diamondy, on the Wambo Wind Farm site, to the existing Halys substation, 11km south-east of Kumbia.

Powerlink will build the new line within the existing 132kV transmission line corridor which should minimise the impact on landholders.

The existing 132kV towers will be decommissioned and removed before construction begins.

The finished line is expected to be completed next year.
