Police divers have now joined the hunt for missing man Luke Fergusson, as the desperate search by police, SES volunteers and local residents continues.

The 28-year-old was reported missing from Stalworth, near Proston, last Friday.

Divers have begun checking local dams and waterways.

Police and SES volunteers have been searching a 27 sq km area near Proston, Stalworth, Abbeywood and the surrounding region since the weekend.

Aircraft – including the AMSA Challenger Jet, the Sunshine Coast and Bundaberg-based rescue helicopters – have joined volunteers on quad bikes and horseback.

Many of the searchers gathered on Wednesday morning at 307 Abbeywood- Proston Road, where a centre has been set up, supported by the local QCWA.

Police and family are concerned about Luke’s welfare due to the cold weather and the time since he was last seen.

He is described as Caucasian, approximately 175cm tall, with a proportionate build, brown hair and brown eyes.

Luke also has a medical condition and may appear disorientated if sighted.

Police continue to appeal to residents within the South Burnett to check their properties and review their CCTV or dashcam footage over the past few days.

Anyone with information about Luke’s whereabouts is urged to contact police.
