The search for a 28-year-old man who disappeared in the Stalworth area on Friday continued without success across the weekend and all day Monday.

Luke Fergusson went missing on foot at an address on Proston-Abbeywood Road about noon on Friday but was reportedly sighted on Sunday.

SES volunteers, police, volunteers on horseback and on foot, and the LifeFlight rescue helicopter have been scouring the area around Proston, Stalworth and Abbeywood.

The search is being co-ordinated from a base at 3082 Wondai-Proston Road, Kinleymore.

Proston CWA volunteers have been supporting the searchers at the base camp.

Temperatures in Proston dropped to close to freezing at the weekend.

Luke and his family moved to the Proston area recently.

His mother posted online that Luke has a learning disability and is not familiar with his surroundings, and could possibly be terrified and hiding.

Residents have been urged again to check around their properties, sheds and other structures.

Anyone who has seen Luke or has any information regarding his whereabouts should contact PoliceLink on 131-444.
