Time is running out to buy tickets for the South Burnett’s new-look Reef’n’Beef fundraiser!

Ticket sales close this Friday (February 3).

The 2023 Reef’n’Beef will be held on February 25 in the grounds of Coolabunia State School.

Reef’n’Beef has been held at Ironpot Hall for more than a decade and quickly became one of the most popular events on the South Burnett calendar.

It was last held in 2020.

After COVID restrictions forced it to be cancelled in 2021 and 2022, the volunteer committee decided it was time to pass on the baton.

Members of the Coolabunia State School P&C accepted the challenge.

P&C president Michael Sloan said the group was excited about hosting the event.

“We’ve been fortunate to have Ironpot event organiser and South Burnett councillor Scott Henschen attend a number of our meetings,” Michael said.

“His expertise, generosity and advice has been invaluable while we’ve been making preparations.

“We know that many in our community have wonderful memories of the event out at Ironpot and while it may look a little different at Coolabunia we hope that, in time, it will be just as successful.”

There’ll be prawns, oysters, crabs, calamari and red emperor fish on offer as well as barbecued local beef and a choice of desserts.

Wine, beer, pre-mixed sprits, cocktails and mocktails will be on sale.

Local musicians Amber Goldsmith and Paul Rickets Express will be providing the live entertainment.

Mr Sloan said all money raised would be used to to support students at Coolabunia State School.

“Our goal this year is to raise enough funds to replace our school’s outdated playground,” he said.

Tickets are $95 and can be booked online
