The South Burnett DV Safe Phone program has been a success, according to local police.

Since it began last year, 99 used mobile phones have been provided to victims of domestic and family violence across the district.

A mobile phone is something many people take for granted but it can be a lifesaver for victims of domestic violence.

Working mobile phones which are donated to the DV Safe Phone program are erased, tested and then distributed to victims of domestic violence.

Working mobile phones that are no longer needed can be dropped off the Murgon, Cherbourg or Kingaroy police stations.
