The bull ride will kick off at Nanango Showgrounds at 7:00pm on Friday … tickets for the bull ride will get patrons into the show for free on Saturday

April 8, 2021

Nanango Show is celebrating its 120th birthday this weekend – and the festivities are going to be huge!

So big, in fact, the show has expanded to two full days to fit everything in …

The first Nanango Show was held in 1901, however wartime (and COVID, of course) has forced a few cancellations over the years which means the 2021 event is actually the 112th Nanango Show.

But the Nanango A P & M Society Inc (the Nanango Show Society) is keen to mark the fact they have been highlighting the best of Nanango’s country lifestyle for 120 years.

Celebrations kick off on Friday, with events during the day and into the night.

The bullride on Friday night is sure to attract a crowd – and as an added incentive, people who buy a ticket for Friday will get into the show for free on Saturday (just keep your wristbands).

Showjumping and other equestrian events will also be in the main ring on Friday, and canine lovers will enjoy browsing the always-keenly contested championship dog show.

Saturday’s show features a very special guest, the Queensland Governor, His Excellency Paul de Jersey AC, who will be officially opening the show at 11:00am.

All the fun of the fair will also be happening on Saturday … sideshow alley, cattle, pavilion displays, trade stalls, wood chopping and chainsaw events, goats, trotting, an animal nursery and reptile show.

Then on Saturday night, there’ll be fireworks at 7:00pm and live country music into the evening with Mik Oberle.

Tickets will be available at the gate but organisers have recommended that patrons buy their passes online (see link below).
