South Burnett Saints’ men’s and women’s teams will be in action this weekend with pre-season games at Fernvale.
The Saints, who have been training since the beginning of the month, will be facing last year’s premiers, South Toowoomba Bombers.
The women’s game will start at 12:30pm at Fernvale Sports Park, followed by the men at about 2:00pm.
Darling Downs AFL’s official 2021 competition will be kicking off on April 24.
The 14-round senior men’s competition features eight teams this year, with the post-COVID return of University.
The women’s competition will also feature 14 rounds, with six clubs competing.
Both Grand Finals will be played on August 28.
In Round 1, the Saints men will play Warwick at WCU Oval in Warwick while the Saints women will play Dalby at Dalby.
Their first home games will be in Round 3 against University at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy on May 8.
