Police from Kingaroy and Murgon stations have hosted “Coffee With A Cop” events to coincide with Road Safety Week, and both look to have been a success.

Murgon’s inaugural “Coffee With A Cop” was held on Monday at The Coffee Bar 4605 in Lamb Street, and attracted local residents eager to chat with police.

Kingaroy’s event, on Thursday at Muffin Break in Shoppingworld, was the town’s third “Coffee With A Cop” and it proved as much of a success as its previous two outings.

“Coffee With A Cop” was launched in the South Burnett last December as an easy, informal way for the public to meet their local police officers and raise any concerns about local issues.

Kingaroy Officer-in-Charge Senior Sergeant Dave Tierney said he was very pleased with the attendance at the events so far.

He hopes to run one more “Coffee With A Cop” in Kingaroy before the end of the year.
