Multiple fire crews were called on Wednesday afternoon to a large grass fire burning near Runnymede Road and McCallum Road at Runnymede.
At 6:45pm, 13 fire crews were at the incident.
A water bomber and heavy machinery were called in to assist.
A QFES spokesperson said the firefighters were strengthening containment lines in an effort to control the blaze.
