A revised proposed draw for the 2014 South Burnett junior and senior rugby league competitions was released this evening.

Round 1 for both junior and senior competitions will be played on March 22.

Junior games will be played at Kingaroy, Wondai and Gayndah.

In the seniors, Kingaroy will host a double header (Wondai v Murgon; and Kingaroy v Nanango) while Cherbourg will host the Burrum Miners at Jack O’Chin Oval.

The Oakey Bears travelled across to the South Burnett last weekend to play a couple of trial matches against local sides.

In Kingaroy, the Red Ants defeated Oakey 38-34 in a see-sawing match before a big crowd on Friday night.

On Saturday night at Nanango, the Stags also proved too good for the Bears, defeating them 26-20.

Oakey’s U18s clocked up a 28-10 win over Nanango in U18s.

The Murgon Mustangs will be playing a couple of trial matches on Saturday.

The U18s will be travelling to Bundaberg to play Brothers, and the senior team will be taking on the Burrum Miners at Torbanlea.

This will be a good opportunity for the South Burnett team to test out the Miners, who will be playing in the South Burnett Premier League competition this year.

The Kingaroy trial match against Oakey got off to a delayed start after Red Ant Jayden Jarvis was accidentally knocked out in the first tackle; officials rushed to his aid and he was taken to hospital by ambulance but was later discharged
