The Board of Pulse Health has confirmed its intention to continue managing the South Burnett Private Hospital, the South Burnett Regional Council announced this afternoon.
Council was advised of the decision late last week.
“This is an exciting new beginning for the South Burnett Private Hospital,” Mayor Kratzmann said.
He said Council would work collaboratively with Pulse Health and the South Burnett medical fraternity to deliver private health services and, in the future, hoped to identify new opportunities to expand services.
“Whilst there are some points to be finalised in the new lease arrangement, I was pleased with Pulse Health’s change of strategic direction which brings with it a fresh approach to hospital administration,” Council CEO Ken McLoughlin said.
“I’m looking forward to working with the Pulse Health CEO for the benefit of the community.”
Pulse CEO Phillipa Blakey said the Board’s intention was to continue to operate the hospital under the new arrangement.
“I will be visiting the hospital again in the next few weeks and am confident the lease arrangements will be finalised around that time,” she said.
“Staff of the hospital have been most supportive of the proposed changes and patient services would continue without disruption.”
UPDATE August 1: The South Burnett Regional Council posted on Facebook this morning: “Great News… Pulse Health will continue managing the South Burnett Private Hospital”.
