2012 Nanango Country Music Muster
The 2012 Nanango Country Music Muster will be held at the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street, Nanango from the 6th to the 9th of September this year - and today the Muster will get underway in a low-key way as attendees file into Nanango from all over south-east Queensland to set up camp and prepare for a long weekend of country music fun. The 2012 Muster will kick off with a BBQ and a Campers Walk Up Concert which will start at 10:00am and continue until 10:00pm tonight. A bar will be operating at the Showgrounds from 5:00pm to 10:00pm as well. You can get in to attend this evening's barbie and concert for a slim $5 per person (the fee triples to $15 tomorrow) or you can buy a 4-day season pass for $40 (young people aged 14 to 17 can get tickets for half price, and under-14s accompanied by an adult can get in for free). Camping fees at the Showgrounds range between $6 and $8.50 per night extra for unpowered or powered sites, and a booking for any camp site is essential. Charity Golf Day - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Quota Club will be holding their 37th annual Charity Golf Day at the Kingaroy Golf Club on the Bunya Highway south-west of town from 8:45am onwards this morning (tee-off is at 9:00am). The day is open to both men and women and in addition to normal golf there'll also be novelty events, a raffle and a cent auction, along with prizes for the winners and runners-up. Nomination fees are $20 - which includes morning tea and lunch - a proceeds will be distributed to nominated charities. Bloomin' Beautiful Burger Night - Blackbutt
The Blackbutt RSL at the corner of Muir and Douglas Streets in Blackbutt will be holding a Bloomin' Beautiful Burger Night from 6:00pm onwards this evening in honour of this week's annual Bloomin' Beautiful Blackbutt Festival. There'll be some terrific burgers on offer, and you can make a booking by phoning (07) 4163-0383.
Thursday Afternoon Golf - Nanango
The Nanango Golf Club on the D'Aguilar Highway at Nanango holds a 9-hole stableford game every Thursday afternoon for anyone interested in playing. Names need to be in by 1:00pm for a 1:30pm start, and new players are always welcome. More details? Phone the golf club on (07) 4163-1463

Barambah Accommodation Support Services will be holding their Annual General Meeting at the Wondai Diggers Club in Mackenzie Street, Wondai at 10:00am this morning. All interested people are welcome to attend.

Thursday Evening Dance Classes - Kingaroy
Social Dance Classes will be held in the Apex room of the Kingaroy Senior Citizens Centre at the corner of Avoca and Kingaroy Streets, Kingaroy (opposite Super IGA) at 6:30pm this evening. You can learn how to do the Gypsy Tap, Pride of Erin or some of the latest sequence dances - and don't worry if you haven’t got a partner, there are plenty of dancers to help you! It doesn't matter if you just want to learn, have been dancing for years or are visiting the area - come along for a great night out with heaps of fun and laughter. Alcoholics Anonymous - Kingaroy
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experiences, strengths and hopes with each other to help solve their common problems and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership, and A.A. isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution. St Josephs Bingo - Murgon
St Joseph's Parish Hall in Angel Avenue, Murgon will be holding bingo games from 7:30pm this evening. There'll be $1000 in prizes on offer as well as a canteen and lucky bingo tickets. Proceeds will go to aid St Joseph's school and community works.
