Red Earth Community Foundation is looking for the next group of local people prepared to invest in themselves and their communities.
Applications are now open for the 2027 Red Earth Community Leadership Program (RECLP), the annual residential leadership program held at the Bunya Mountains.
More than 270 people have taken part in the program from across the Burnett and beyond since the program began in 2014.
However, Red Earth chair Georgie Somerset said the significance of the program was much bigger than the number of alumni.
“The real story is what those people have gone on to contribute,” she said.
“RECLP graduates are found across local businesses, farms, health and education, councils, industry, community organisations, volunteer groups and regional initiatives.
“Some lead from the front. Others are the trusted person behind the scenes who brings people together or gets something moving.
“Every time we invest in people, that capability comes back into our communities.”
The six-day program is held across two residential modules at the Bunya Mountains and brings together people from different ages, occupations, communities and backgrounds.
Participants explore personal leadership, communication, teamwork, relationships and the confidence to turn ideas into action.
Mrs Somerset said Red Earth wanted to hear from people who had never previously considered applying for a leadership program.
“You don’t need a leadership title,” she said.
“You might be an employee showing potential, a business owner, farmer, volunteer, committee member, health worker, teacher, tradesperson or someone who simply wants to contribute more confidently.
Local employers are also encouraged to nominate and invest in team members who would benefit from the program.
