AgForce South-East Queensland is holding its annual forum – which has the theme “Biosecurity – Paddock To Practice” on October 30 at ‘Bethany’, just outside Kingaroy.
The all-day event will bring together producers, researchers, natural resource management organisations, technology providers, contractors and government agencies to share knowledge and showcase innovation.
Topics to be covered include invasive weeds, wild dogs, feral pigs, deer, cattle ticks and buffalo flies.
An AgForce spokesperson said the forum had been designed to provide landholders with practical tools, real-world case studies and cost-effective strategies that can be implemented on the ground.
It will feature presentations from leading biosecurity and pest management specialists including National Wild Dog Management Co-ordinator Greg Mifsud, Darling Downs and South-West Queensland Feral Pig Co-ordinator John Scriven, Pastures to Prosperity founder Ross Newman and parasitology technical adviser Michelle Dever.
The program will also include presentations and updates from the Queensland DPI, the National Fire Ant Eradication Program and the Weed Spotters Network Queensland.
The event will kick off in “The Old Hangar” at 9:00am, and will include morning tea and lunch. It will be followed by networking drinks at 5:15pm, and conclude with a dinner and charity auction.
- Tickets are free for AgForce members and can be booked online
