Former State MP Bruce Saunders, who served as the ALP Member for Maryborough from 2015-2024, dropped into the Wondai Markets last Saturday to rally his local troops.
Mr Saunders took up the role as a regional organiser for Queensland Labor after his defeat at the 2024 State poll.
The ALP has a small but enthusiastic branch based in Wondai which holds a stall every market day.
Mr Saunders said the party was now in the process of selecting candidates for the next State and Federal elections.
The State Election will be held on October 28, 2028.
The next Federal Election is yet to be scheduled, but if simultaneous half-Senate and House of Representatives polls were to be held, it would have to be at some time between August 7, 2027, and May 20, 2028.
