A workshop held in Blackbutt late last month has decided not to proceed with a proposal to seek Social Housing funding for the Greenhills Villas.
However the project itself, to provide local housing for local aged residents, will continue as planned with an updated pathway.
The management committee of the Blackbutt Benarkin Aged Care Association Inc invited local residents to the workshop to explore the different funding opportunities available for the Greenhills Villas.
Chair Jeff Connor said the aim of the workshop was to create a “shared direction” and build momentum for the next phase.
During the morning, Blackbutt RSL Sub-Branch members presented a cheque for $1500 to the association, 50 per cent of the profits raised from the recent Back To The 70s Party Night at the Blackbutt Memorial Hall.
Sub-Branch president Dave Jager thanked all the residents who came together on the night to raise funds for the project.
It was also announced during the morning that Life Memberships would be presented to long-time supporters of the Greenhills Villas project, Willo Riley and Emeric Charles.
The committee also unveiled the new Greenhills Villas website
