Nanango Race Club’s meeting on Saturday turned up the heat just in time for Spring.
The Fashions Of The Field competition was well supported, with entrants travelling from afar to take part.
The five races on the card were also very competitive with a number of close finishes.
Well-known racegoer Verelle O’Shanesy, from Jandowae, enjoyed an extra special meeting.
She was runner-up in both the Classic Lady and Millinery fashions competitions but was also part-owner of “Outdoor Cat” which took out Race 4 thanks to jockey Matthew Powell.
South Burnett Mayor Kathy Duff selected local resident Delvin Powys as her “Paddock Pick”, ie. selected from racegoers who didn’t enter the main Fashions competitions.
The Best Presented Strapper prize, sponsored by Glenda Richardson and Cr Deb Dennien, was presented to Alex Gorey.
