Applications for the next round of the State Government’s “Play On!” sports vouchers will open next Monday, July 27.
The vouchers are valued up to $200 and help reduce membership fees and participation costs for children aged between 5 and 17.
Parents can choose to use the vouchers for either summer or winter sports.
More than 3750 Queensland sporting clubs now accept the Play On! vouchers, with allocations set aside for children living with a disability or in regional and remote areas.
Member For Nanango Deb Frecklington said 1735 children across her electorate had benefited from Play On! vouchers during the last financial year.
“This is about supporting families, strengthening grassroots sport and making sure more children have the opportunity to get active and be part of their local sporting community,” she said.
“We know the cost of living is putting pressure on household budgets, and sporting registration fees can be a significant expense for many families.”
