A motorbike rider, aged in his 40s, was airlifted to hospital after crashing his bike near Blackbutt on Saturday.

The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight rescue helicopter was despatched just after noon and landed in a paddock near the incident.

A LifeFlight spokesperson said the man apparently lost control of his motorcycle while travelling with a group of other riders.

The man was airlifted to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition with head injuries.

A woman, aged in her 20s, escaped serious injuries in a single-vehicle crash on the Bunya Highway near Wooroolin on Sunday morning.

Emergency services were called about 11:30am.
