The Yarraman SES Group has been recognised for their outstanding efforts in responding to requests for help across the region.
A Queensland State Emergency Service spokesperson said the group, which has just eight volunteers, was named the Group Of The Year at the South Western Region SES Awards Ceremony on May 30.
In 2025, the group responded to requests for help across Yarraman and the broader south-western region.
Volunteers were also deployed across Queensland to respond to severe weather events across the State, including flooding and storm damage.
The group will now head to the SES State Awards Ceremony in Brisbane on August 29 along with the other winners from across Queensland, for the announcement of the overall Group of the Year for 2026.
