A crime scene was declared by police after fire destroyed a house at Coominya on Saturday night.
Emergency services were called at 11:45pm after reports a house in West Road was on fire.
The fire is believed to have started on the rear verandah where it quickly spread to the rest of the house.
The occupant was out of the house at the time, and no one was physically injured.
Fire investigators were expected to inspect the incident on Sunday.
