Firefighters were called to an incident on the Burnett Highway at Johnstown about 1:30pm on Thursday after reports of a truck on fire.
The truck, which was carrying a bobcat, apparently suffered a mechanical failure at the rear of the vehicle which sparked the flames.
The bobcat was safely removed before it could be damaged.
The incident occurred near Rickett Road.

QAS paramedics assessed four people after two vehicles collided in Youngman Street, Kingaroy, on Thursday afternoon.
A spokesperson said two people were uninjured.
One woman with minor injuries was taken to Kingaroy Hospital; the fourth person is believed to have accompanied her.

Police are investigating a house fire which occurred at Warra on Thursday morning.
Emergency services were called to a Thorn Street address about 9:30am following reports a house was fully engulfed in flames.
The fire was extinguished; however the property sustained significant damage.
No one was inside the residence at the time of the incident and there were no reports of injuries.
A crime scene has been declared, as investigations continue to determine the cause and circumstances of the fire.
Any witnesses or anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam vision should contact police.
