Two people were taken to hospital suffering smoke inhalation after a house fire at Crawford on Wednesday afternoon.

A Queensland Fire Department spokesperson said three fire crews and a senior officer attended the fire, which began in the kitchen but spread into the roof space of the single-storey building.

Firefighters were called about 2:30pm.

Smoke was issuing from the house in Irwins Road when they arrived.

The flames were brought under control by 2:50pm and extinguished by 3:00pm.

A QAS spokesperson said paramedics transported two people to Kingaroy Hospital in a stable condition.

A kitchen fire was also blamed for an emergency in Goomeri on Tuesday evening.

Firefighters were called to a house in Mayne Street at 6:10pm after reports of a fire.

Fortunately, it was just a small fire on a stove.

Fire crews assisted with ventilating the building.
