The South Burnett Pantry celebrated its 14th birthday – and the recent opening of its new outlet in Murgon – with a special celebration last Thursday (June 4).

Local residents, invited guests and Pantry volunteers gathered at the Baptist Church Hall in Macalister Street, Murgon, for the celebration and to cut an enormous ribbon.

The Murgon Pantry is open every Thursday from 10:00am.

It’s “soft” opening was held on May 21 with the official celebrations held over until last week.

The not-for-profit registered charity is run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers and aims to help low-income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further.
