Have you booked your tickets yet? The South Burnett Community Orchestra will be celebrating 20 years of music and community in a special concert on Saturday night at the Kingaroy Town Hall.
The 20th Anniversary concert will showcase highlights from the orchestra’s rich musical journey over the past two decades.
The program will include orchestral favourites, audience classics as well as special performances celebrating the musicians, volunteers and supporters who have helped shape SBCO since its beginnings in 2006.
From the humble beginnings of a small group of dedicated local musicians rehearsing in Kingaroy, the SBCO has grown into one of regional Queensland’s most respected community orchestras, providing opportunities for musicians of all ages and experience levels to perform and connect through music.
The orchestra has also hosted a series of special fundraising concerts over the years, supporting everything from the Royal Flying Doctor Service to the QCWA.
SBCO president Andrew Maddern said the anniversary concert would be a thank you to the South Burnett community as well as a celebration of the orchestra’s achievements.
“For 20 years, the South Burnett Community Orchestra has brought people together through a shared love of music. This concert is an opportunity to celebrate the incredible musicians, volunteers, audiences, sponsors, and community members who have supported us along the way,” Andrew said.
The concert will feature current orchestra members alongside special guests and former performers who have been part of the organisation’s history over the past 20 years.
Tickets for the special 20th Anniversary concert can be booked online, purchased at Kingaroy Office Central (in Haly Street, Kingaroy) or at the door on the night.
The concert is scheduled to start at 7:00pm (doors open at 6:30pm).
