Upgrades to Telstra’s mobile base station in the Gordonbrook area will temporarily affect coverage for about eight days from next Monday (June 8).

During the works, the site will be switched off for periods of up to 10 hours so the work can be done safely.

Telstra Regional General Manager May Boisen said adding extra 4G/5G capacity to the mobile site would help deliver faster downloads, smoother streaming and less congestion for customers.

“While disruption is required while the upgrade is underway, we’ll only be switching off the site when we need to and will have it back online and working better than ever as quickly as possible,” she said.

Telstra customers will receive an SMS advising of the upcoming work.

The works will not affect NBN, satellite internet services, PSTN landline services or mobile coverage from other providers.

Any calls to Triple Zero from a Telstra mobile when the site is off air will automatically connect to another mobile network, if available, for connection to emergency services.
