Well-known Yarraman resident Marjorie Smith celebrated her 95th birthday recently with more than 30 family and friends at Frohlies Grill.

Marjorie celebrated her special milestone with her children Julie, Robyn, Greg and Kristina along with grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins and their partners.

Guests travelled from various areas of the South Burnett as well as Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

Marjorie is a well-known local resident in the Yarraman district and has lived in the same street for more than 92 years.

As a child, she attended both the Yarraman State School and the Yarraman Convent and was a secretary for most of her working life.

The convent is now known to most locals as the Yarraman Historical Society.

Marjorie married at the tender age of 19 and had four children.

She is often seen out and about with her good friends, the “Chattering Roses”.

She has been described by her friends as the “Best Dressed Social Butterfly” and a joy to be with.

Marjorie remains an active member of the community and recently was a guest on Wild Horse FM radio station.

She was married to her late husband Cyril for 53 years and is the matriarch of five generations in her family.

Marjorie remains independent, loves to garden, watch a game of footy or two and is a massive Broncos fan.
