Kingaroy’s Division 2 men were defeated in a keenly contested game against Garden City last Saturday night in Kingaroy

Kingaroy Senior Soccer Club hosted a double header of games from the Darling Downs Community Football competition last Saturday night.

It was a mixed result for the home teams.

In Division 2, Garden City Raiders defeated Kingaroy 1-0 in a hard fought games.

In Division 1, Kingaroy defeated Highfields 3-1 with goals scored by Adrian Watt, Phillip Griffith and Brandon Smith.

This week’s games will be played in Kingaroy on Sunday.

Kingaroy Division 1 will play West Wanderers at 11:00am, followed by Division 2 taking on Chinchilla Grizzlies at 1:00pm.

Also on Sunday, the Nanango Panthers will be hosting their annual Mini Roos Carnival for Under 6s through to Under 13s all day at the Alan Downie Sports Fields in Burnett Street, Nanango.

This huge carnival attracts young players from teams across south-east Queensland.

Round 2 of the South Burnett Women’s Football competition was played in Kingaroy last Friday night.

Kingaroy Wests defeated Kingaroy Easts 5-1 and Barambah defeated South Burnett United 5-0.

Round 3 will be played this Friday night:

  • 6:15pm – Kingaroy Easts v Barambah
  • 7:35pm – Kingaroy Wests v South Burnett United

Round 3 of South Burnett junior football will continue on Saturday from 8:30am at the Kingaroy Redbacks’ junior fields in Oliver Bond Street, Kingaroy.

  • 8:30am – U12/13s – Barambah Connollys State Waste Bears v Kingaroy Red
  • 10:00am – U12/13s – Kingaroy Black v Nanango Panthers Blue

In U12/13s last week,  Kingaroy Red and Kingaroy Black played a 3-all draw; and Nanango Panthers Blue defeated Barambah Connollys State Waste Bears 9-0.

In Round 1, Nanango Panthers Blue defeated Kingaroy Red 10-0 and Kingaroy Black defeated Barambah Connollys State Waste Bears 6-5.
