Another one bites the dust … watching a dummy get knocked flying during the braking demonstration is a graphic part of the annual RYDA workshops (it takes longer to stop than most drivers realise!)

May 18, 2026

RYDA workshops emphasising road safety for high school students have been happening in Kingaroy for years, thanks to support from the Kingaroy Rotary Club.

But this year, there is also a special session for parents and carers who are supporting their teenagers through their learn-to-drive journey.

The Driver Coach free workshop will be held in the KPAC building at Kingaroy State High School (at the end of Markwell Street) from 6:00pm to 7:00pm on Tuesday night (May 19).

The workshop will explain some of the latest research on road safety as well as what will be covered when their students attend the RYDA course.

There will also be an opportunity to ask questions and get advice from driving instructors, as well as supporting the transition to solo driving.
