FLASHBACK: Last year’s Heritage Day game, against Toowoomba Tigers, was played in August

The South Burnett Saints will be celebrating their annual Heritage Day at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy on Saturday with their first home game of the 2026 season.

All the South Burnett teams will be in action:

  • 9:00am – Under 11.5s v Goondiwindi
  • 10:00am – Under 13.5s Mixed v Coolaroo
  • 11:30am – Under 15.5 Boys v Goondiwindi
  • 1:00pm – Senior Women v Goondiwindi
  • 2:45pm – Senior Men v Goondiwindi

The senior men will turn out in the old Kingaroy Bulldogs strip for Heritage Day.

Highlights of the day will include the official opening of the club’s new changerooms, next to the Kingaroy Cricket Club building, at 2:30pm.

The Bulldogs Spirit Awards will also be announced: the Ron Bird Medal for men, and the Kassulke Family Medal for women.

After the footy is finished, the party will continue into the evening with The Bucket Boys playing live from 6:00pm.

Five Saints’ teams played away games last Saturday.

Saints men had a close game against Warwick at Warwick, finally going down 11.13-39 to 8.5-53 after playing stronger as the game went on.

Goal kickers included Daiki Burns (2), Ben Pressnell, Sean Dunning, Jeremy Zaccardi and Ryan Jacobs.

Also at Warwick, Saints U13.5s faced South Toowoomba Bombers for the second week in a row. Bombers won by 41 points.

Isaac Eagleson kicked a six-pointer for Saints.

Saints U15.5 Boys were defeated by Bombers by 54 points.

The Under 9.5s and Under 11.5s played on Sunday in Toowoomba.
