Representatives from a number of South Burnett agencies and organisations working with children attended specialised in-person training in Kingaroy last week.

The training was hosted by South Burnett CTC at their Enterprise Centre building and delivered by the Australian Childhood Foundation, in partnership with Integrated Family and Youth Service (IFYS) and PeakCare.

The “Embedding the Child Safe Standards” training is designed to equip organisations to implement the 10 Child Safe Standards required under new Queensland Child Safety legislation.

The reforms, which are being implemented in phases, are in response to recommendations from the Royal Commission Into Institutional Responses To Child Sexual Abuse.

The training focused on strengthening practical evidence-based capability and leadership.

The final round of in-person training was held in Kingaroy from May 6-8, bringing together frontline practitioners and senior leaders working with children and families across the region.
