The Kia Sportage was badly damaged in the collision with the livestock truck

An elderly woman was lucky to escape serious injury when her vehicle was involved in a collision with a livestock truck in Kingaroy on Friday morning.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Jarrah and Haly streets about 10:15am.

The Kia Sportage was badly damaged in the collision with the B-Double which was carrying pigs to the Swickers abattoir.

A QAS spokesperson said a woman, aged in her 80s, was the only occupant in the car.

She was taken by ambulance to Kingaroy Hospital in a stable condition with hip pain.

No animals appeared to have been injured in the crash.

Police were directing traffic on Haly Street around the scene of the collision
