Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington has congratulated CROW-FM on securing a $53,140 grant through Round 124 of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund.

The funding will allow radio station to install a solar and battery system, an upgrade which will reduce operating costs, improve energy efficiency and ensure the station can remain on air during power outages and emergencies.

Mrs Frecklington said local radio played a critical role in regional Queensland, particularly during severe weather, natural disasters and unexpected events.

“Stations like CROW-FM provide timely updates, localised information and a trusted voice that helps keep people safe. This investment strengthens that capability, giving the community greater security and confidence that essential information will remain accessible when it matters most.

“Access to reliable local media is vital for regional communities, particularly in times of crisis.

“It was a pleasure to personally congratulate Rowena and her team and thank them for the outstanding work they do for the South Burnett and broader community.

“Their dedication ensures our region remains informed, supported and connected everyday.”

“The Crisafulli Government remains committed to backing the community organisations that keep regional Queensland connected, informed and resilient.”
