Kingaroy Senior Soccer Club’s Pink Day last Saturday at Tom Alford Oval in Kingaroy raised more than $1250 for McGrath Foundation’s breast cancer care nurses!

The raffle alone raised nearly $500 thanks to the generosity of local sponsors.

The club’s canteen served snacks and dinner all day, with $300 from sales donated to the cause.

And player Joe Kleinhanss sacrificed his afro, allowing his dad Craig to shave it off and raising $459 along the way.

There was also action out on the field, with the Kingaroy’s men’s and women’s teams playing on the same day at the same venue for the first time for years (see results, below).

The Kingaroy teams (and the refs) all wore pink socks, courtesy of referee Andrew Cox, from Cox Plumbing.

A special presentation was also made to Andrew who refereed his 150th game on Saturday.

This weekend, the Kingaroy Division 1 team will be taking on Highfields at 5:00pm on Saturday at Highfields in the Darling Downs senior community competition.

The South Burnett Women’s football competition will be continuing at Tom Alford Oval on Friday night with Nanango v Barambah at 6:15pm (the other game from this round was played on Tuesday night).

South Burnett Junior Soccer will be shifting to the Kingaroy Junior Soccer Fields on Saturday:
