Police investigating alleged breaches of a domestic violence order have seized shotguns, rifles, ammunition and a mace from a Kilkivan property.

A 45-year-old Kilkivan man has been charged with three counts of contravention of a domestic violence order,  unlawful possession of 10 or more weapons, unlawful possession of Category M weapons, possessing relevant substances, authority required to possess explosives (ammunition), failing to dispose of a needle and syringe, and receiving tainted property.

The search was carried out on the Black Snake Road address on Sunday.

Police officers from the Kilkivan and Gympie stations were supported by the Wide Bay Burnett Tactical Crime Squad, Maryborough Dog Squad and Public Response Safety Team in “Operation Black Snake”.

The man was remanded in custody to reappear in  Gympie Magistrates Court on Thursday,
