The Bunya Mountains Community Association Inc (BMCAI) has received $2250 from the South Burnett Regional Council’s community grants program to raise awareness about biosecurity and safety issues on the mountains.
A cheque was presented to the BMCAI recently by Cr Linda Little.
The association will use the money to prepare, produce and distribute educational brochures for both locals and visitors.
BMCAI secretary Carol Weekes said two brochures would be made produced: “Finding Fungi In The Bunya Mountains” and “The Bunya Mountains Dingo”.
The brochures will be available at various locations in the Bunya Mountains and through Visitor Information Centres in both the South Burnett and Western Downs council areas.
