Kingaroy vocalist Julee-anne Bell and pianist Melissa Buchholz will be hosting a vocal workshop as a warm-up to their concert on Sunday afternoon (May 25) in Kingaroy.
The duo are bringing “Perfectly Imperfect” to the Kingaroy Town Hall at 2:00pm on Sunday for a one-off performance after shows at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, Brisbane, the Gold Coast and in NSW.
But earlier in the day, South Burnett singers have been invited to take part in a vocal workshop from 10:00am, under Julee-anne’s and Melissa’s guidance.
Participants will learn some simple choral arrangements and then form a mass choir to sing at the afternoon concert.
Julee-anne and Melissa promise a show filled with classic songs from The Mamas and The Papas, Olivia Newton-John, Simon and Garfunkel, John Denver and more.
But as well as the melodies, there’ll also be stories and recollections designed to lift your spirits.
Kingaroy flautist Trinity Miller – along with the Fab Five (a group of young saxophonists from Toowoomba) – will also be joining Julee-anne and Melissa on stage.
Tickets for the workshop and show can be booked online
The project has been funded by the Regional Arts Development Fund, a partnership between the South Burnett Regional Council and State Government to support local arts and
culture in regional Queensland.
